The begin is with an idea, strong and potent, storming the mind,
And creating brainwaves, thrilling and so voltaic, under the hood,
That surge and send spikes all through the mesh of neural circuits,
And overload the mind with enthusiasm, excitement and fervour,
Distance to goal is a small matter of a few baby steps, so tricks the mind,
But the true trudge to the goal is one long marathon masked to being just a few feet away,
Before long however, the formerly gripping waves break out on the shore, loosing energy,
And with no dam built to save and harvest, all that kinetic energy is lost and thwarted,
Only a few steps walked towards the goal, realism catches up and the grand pursuit gets called off,
This is an anecdote, way too common, of dreams that get aborted.
Getting to any position, away from the usual grind, that one wants to be in,
Is no mere dash but one long marathon of getting over many pesky obstacles,
Every step taken is a battle of perseverance between sticking out on the course,
And getting back to being on the safer option of the earlier predictable grind,
Unsure of beliefs, leery of stepping outside of comfort zones, and fear of run-ons,
They all are good reasons to call any grand pursuit off, but if a dream is to be ever realised,
It can only be banked on the conviction that it is OK to risk uncertainty and imperfection,
Than suffer boredom of sustaining the usual grind and cashing it for small, attainable victories,
One cluster of waves is behind another, every cluster is a potential to derive more kinetic energy,
Yours too could be an anecdote, albeit a successful one, of dreams that are achieved, when you stay the course.
